WAYS TO HELP
There are three ways Saint Mary Parishioners help the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen and Shelter: one Sunday a month Parishioners work at the soup kitchen cooking, serving, and greeting; another group makes the sandwiches in our Saint Mary School kitchen to take to Dorothy Day; and some volunteers also spend an overnight at the shelter. Regular volunteers and substitutes are always needed.
We are a community of people
Who care about our brothers and sisters
Providing love, food and rest.
Food in the form of a kitchen,
Rest in the form of a shelter, and
Love in the way we conduct ourselves.
We accomplish this by living God's word
Relying on our prayerful faith
To provide donations to fit our needs.
In the event that our bounty is so great,
We believe in sharing with other needy groups.
Please pray with us, that one day we will open our doors,
And no one will need our services
