Selection of
a Cemetery Plot/Niche/Entombment Space
There
are several factors to consider in the selection of a Cemetery plot, entombment
or inurnment space.
1. Cremation versus burial
For cremations, the options
are:

In-ground
inurnment

gravesite within the Cemetery

ground inurnment

Private

Mausoleum
For burial, the options are:

2. Type of Memorial marker
Ø
Various
styles of markers are permitted in different sections of the Cemetery
o
Within
the Saint Mary Garden Columbarium, all engraving is done at the Cemetery
direction and is done by our contracted vendor.
Ø
The
three types of markers are:
o
Upright
o
Slant
o
Flush
Ø
You
will be informed of the type of marker that can be placed on the grave at the
time of purchase
3. Number of graves/niches needed
Ø
Each
single standard grave can accommodate a maximum of one casket and two cremains
or three cremains
Ø
Each
niche within the Saint Mary Garden Columbarium can hold two cremains
Ø
Each
Urn Garden plot can accommodate one cremains
4. Private Mausoleum Plots
Ø
The
total footprint of the mausoleum may not exceed 50% of the lot, there is a
required 3' setback on all sides of plot
Ø
Maximum
height of the mausoleum is 8' (interior; allows for a maximum of 3 crypts
stacked) - exterior height may not exceed 10'
Ø
The
Cemetery Director must approve all plans and specifications of the mausoleum
prior to construction and once construction is completed the landscaping plan
must be reviewed and approved
